Therapies: Constitutional Hydrotherapy |
The word constitutional refers to the whole-body effects of the therapy. This treatment is used to correct a wide range of dysfunction in addition to providing a general enhancement to health.
The therapy is not new, although it has only recently received renewed interest in the Naturopathic community, due in part to a desire amongst its practitioners not to popularize their findings. To our knowledge we at the Institute are one of the very few practitioners of the therapy in Canada and the United States.

A series of hot and cold towels are applied to first the front and then the back of the body. This serves to alter and control the circulation to the deep organs such as the liver and the kidneys. |

A slight electrical stimulus is then applied to cause the muscle fibres in these organs to contract, purging and cleansing them of their accumulations. The goal is to produce a healing crisis which speeds recovery and hastens healing. |
This treatment produces a sensation of well-being and contentment, thus resulting in a calming, peaceful effect on the nervous system and adrenals.
