Therapies: German Footbath

German Footbath

The footbath is a detoxifying therapy and works according to several scientifically based principles. It is not, as the name implies, a treatment exclusively for the feet.

  • The capillary and nerve networks found on both the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet affords a marvelous and under-utilized vehicle for the removal of waste from the body.
  • This is due to the fact that these areas are semi-permeable and allow elements to pass through them.
  • In a footbath the bath water has a higher temperature and concentration of elements than the blood circulation to the feet.

Footbaths are an excellent means of eliminating waste and toxins from the circulatory system. Used extensively by health spas throughout Europe, this technique can be experienced here in North America at the Institute. This detoxifying treatment consists of submerging the feet in cold water that contains a special combination of herbs and mineral salts. The activator sets up an osmotic field that draws toxins from the lymphatic and blood circulation.
